How asset types work

The Assets by type chart groups your accounts into categories like Cash, Property, Stocks, and Crypto so you can see how your wealth is distributed at a glance.

Where does this data come from?

Every account you add has an account type. Tremis uses that type to slot the account into the correct category on the chart. If an account has no type set, it appears under Other.

Available types

  • Cash
  • Property
  • Mortgage
  • Loan
  • Credit card
  • Stocks
  • Brokerage
  • Crypto
  • Precious metals
  • Private investment
  • Pension
  • Bonds
  • Other

How to set or change the type

  1. 1Go to Accounts and click Add account (or click an existing account to open the edit panel).
  2. 2On the first step, choose the account type from the list. This is the primary selector — pick the type that best describes the account.
  3. 3Save the account. The chart will update the next time the dashboard loads.

Why it matters

The type drives the Assets by type exposure chart, asset allocation goals, and portfolio health signals. Accounts categorised correctly give you a more accurate picture of your diversification.
